The Future of Construction 2023 Symposium
We are very pleased to announce that the Future of Construction 2023 Symposium will take place at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, from September 13 to 15, 2023.
The symposium provides a platform to discuss novel Human-Machine Teams for Design and Sustainable Construction. Together we will raise questions about how complementary skills—the accuracy and speed of machines and their ability to crunch large amounts of data, jointly with our capacity as humans to solve problems creatively, flexibly, and collaboratively—can affect the ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable development of the built environment. It is a continuation of a series of events that first took place at ETH Zurich in 2022.
The symposium is organized by Kathrin Dörfler (Professorship of Digital Fabrication), Pierluigi D’Acunto (Professorship of Structural Design), Konrad Nübel (Chair of Construction Process Management), and Christos Chantzaras (Venture Lab Built Environment) of TUM, and co-organized by Michael Bühler (University of Applied Sciences Konstanz), Danielle Griego (ETH Zurich), Norman Hack (Technical University of Braunschweig), Ena Lloret-Fritschi (Università della Svizzera italiana), Stefana Parascho (EPFL), and Thomas Wortmann (University of Stuttgart). It will be held in hybrid mode, with participants from academia, start-ups, and the construction industry.
