Marcel is a Ph.D. student and startup coach at the University of Stuttgart. In his role as a startup coach he supports early stage science-based startups toward market selection, business model development and financing. His main focus is on qualifying and coaching early stage researchers interested in Entrepreneurship.
Together, Kathrin and Marcel develop an Entrepreneurship Education curriculum to foster Entrepreneurial awareness, skills and mindset among early stage researchers.

Session #4 – Research Canvas: Identifying commercialization options for your technology
The workshop’s objective is to reflection about the potential of your own research topic/idea , to assess potential through identifying users/stakeholders, and to develope or extend potential use cases based on your research & network. Researchers feel the need to see practical value and implications of their research. However, especially in fields of foundational research struggle to do so. This can potentially lower the perception of the own research and trigger doubts of the selected path. The Research Canvas is an approach to help researchers identify practical applications of their research results and to trigger action by enabling the identification of potential users and stakeholders. The Research Canvas fosters out-of-the-box thinking and discussion with other workshop participants. This workshop is highly active and will be organized by professional coaches. The coaches can also be reached out to after the workshop for more in-depth guidance.
