Daria Kovaleva is an architect and a Research Associate at the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design (ILEK) at the University of Stuttgart. After her graduation in 2009 she worked in various architectural offices, including Werner Sobek Group, and in 2014 joined ILEK team in the field of functionally graded concrete structures. Her research within SPP 2187 is focusing on design and fabrication of water-soluble sand formwork system for complex concrete structures. The progress of Design and Detailing working group she will present together with SPP colleagues Zlata Tosic, Martin Rettinger and Lothar Kolbeck.
After his mechanical engineering studies, Frederik Wulle, M.Sc. conducted research within the CRC/TRR141 “Biological Design and Integrative Structures” under the supervision of Prof. Jan Knippers on innovative manufacturing processes for bionic fabrication methods in architecture. In his working group additive manufacturing at the Institute for Control Technology of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units at the University of Stuttgart planning and control engineering solutions are developed, such as a process for load-capable-oriented multi-axis additive manufacturing. Since the beginning of the PP2187 he leads the working group “strategies and concepts of production” in cooperation with Prof. Sandra Gelbrich.
Maximilian Nistler, M.Sc. studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart, specializing in production information technologies and fluid mechanics, and successfully completed his studies in early 2020. During his studies, he was already involved in research projects in the area of control technology in production, especially in additive manufacturing, and researches at the Institute for Control Technology of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units at the University of Stuttgart. His research within the PP2187 is in the field of control of powder bed-based formwork printing and from April 2021, Mr. Nistler will lead the working group “strategies and concepts of production” together with Prof. Sandra Gelbrich.
David Stieler is a Research Associate at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD) at the University of Stuttgart.
His research within the SPP2187 focuses on the development of agent-based modelling methods for material and production systems in pre-fab concrete construction.
Before joining ICD, David Stieler worked as a researcher on the development of market-ready 3d printing solutions for the concrete industry and as a teaching assistant at the University of Innsbruck.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Mark is full professor of “Concrete Structures” at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. He received his promotion (1997) and habilitation (2006) from the same university and is author or co-author of more than 250 publications in the field of structural engineering. He is further independent checking engineer of structural analysis, consulting engineer, state-approved expert for verifying the stability of structures and editor of several books.
