IntCDC Open Position – Research Associate at Materials Testing Institute (MPA), University of Stuttgart
The Materials Testing Institute at the University of Stuttgart / Department of Mineral Building Materials / Unit of Material Behavior and Modeling is accepting applications.
PhD position – MPA University of Stuttgart (f/m/d)
The Materials Testing is a central institute (facility) of the Stuttgart University, successfully active in materials testing and research in almost all areas of civil engineering as well as mechanical and plant engineering.
We are looking for a PhD candidate with MSc degree in materials science, civil engineering or related fields. The candidate will conduct research in the area of durability of timber buildings. The aim of the research is to support the design of innovative timber (hardwood/softwood) composite systems through experimental study and development of a novel and reliable material FE modelling approach.
The student will be part of the Cluster of Excellence “Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture (IntCDC)”. The Cluster aims to harness the full potential of digital technologies to rethink design and construction based on integration and interdisciplinarity, with the goal of enabling game-changing innovation in the building sector for sustainable, inclusive and high-quality architecture.
