Einladung zur SPP 2187 Abschlusskonferenz

Das Schwerpunktprogramm 2187 „Adaptive Modulbauweisen mit Fließfertigungsmethoden“ lädt herzlich zur Abschlusskonferenz „Modular Construction and Reuse“ ein, die am 2.–4. März 2026 stattfindet. Nach zwei Förderperioden und mehr als sechs Jahren Forschungsarbeit markiert die Konferenz den Abschluss des Schwerpunktprogramms und bietet eine Plattform zur Präsentation zentraler Forschungsergebnisse.

Die Konferenz findet gemeinsam mit den Forschungsverbünden SFB 1683 und SFB/TRR 277 statt und fördert den interdisziplinären Austausch zu aktuellen Entwicklungen im modularen Bauen sowie zur Wiederverwendung von Baukomponenten.

Wir freuen uns auf Ihre Teilnahme und den persönlichen Austausch während der Konferenz.

The Priority Program 2187 “Adaptive Modular Construction Methods with Flow Production Methods” cordially invites you to the final conference “Modular Construction and Reuse,” which will take place on March 2–4, 2026. After two funding periods and more than six years of research work, the conference marks the conclusion of the Priority Program and offers a platform for presenting key research results.

The conference is being held jointly with the research networks SFB 1683 and SFB/TRR 277 and promotes interdisciplinary exchange on current developments in modular construction and the reuse of building components.

We look forward to your participation and to personal exchanges during the conference.

The Collaborative Research Center TRR 277 AMC is excited to announce its upcoming event, the First Funding Period Closing Conference, taking place on October 9th – 11th, 2023. Set within the TU Braunschweig’s Audimax, the conference will showcase the remarkable research highlights achieved during the initial four years of the Transregio.

A true standout will be the Keynotes addresses by visionaries in the field: Achim Menges, Ana Anton, and Benjamin Dillenburger.

In addition, participants will have the chance to experiencing with 1:1 scale demonstrators, offering a hands-on experience of the advancements made. The detailed programme can be found attached, outlining the schedule of presentations, discussions, and interactive segments.

Gido Dielemans

Gido Dielemans is a doctoral researcher at the Assistant Professorship for Digital Fabrication at the Department of Architecture within TU Munich. With background in structural design and engineering, he develops strategies for using mobile robotic systems performing extrusion-based AM on construction sites.

Noor Khader

Noor Khader is a research associate at the Institute for Structural Design at TU Braunschweig. With training in both architecture and digital fabrication, she deals with workflows from design to fabrication with various additive manufacturing processes using cementitious materials.

Lukas Lachmayer

Lukas Lachmayer is conducting his research as a mechanical engineer at the institute of assembly technology at the Leibniz University in Hannover. He focuses on process control and path-planning for robot-based additive manufacturing processes to ensure faultless deposition 3D-printing processes.

Workshop #6 – Additive Manufacturing in Construction: In situ Retrofitting Using AM with Mobile Robots

In this workshop we aim to experimentally explore whether the deployment of mobile robots on building sites could be utilized for retrofitting, customized renovation, or repair by applying in situ extrusion 3D printing technology. For this, we will set up a testing scenario, in which parts of an incomplete – unfinished or broken – building component will be completed by utilizing the AM technology of in-place extrusion 3D printing. A mobile robot will be equipped with an onboard sensing system to recognize the geometric shape of such an incomplete component, and a geometry will be generated based on the sensor data, which will be in-place printed by the robot.

The workshop will include the following blocks:

Block 1 (Theory): Introduction of mobile construction robotics and basics of sensing and context awareness
Block 2 (Practical Experiment): Sensing, data processing, and geometry generation
Block 3 (Practical Experiment): Design studies and path planning
Block 4 (Practical Experiment): 3D printing
Block 5 (Results and Discussion): Reflection on the results and learned topics

On behalf of practical experiments, participants will get insights on basic concepts of mobile construction robotics, on basics of sensing and context awareness, on specific workflows for extrusion 3d printing, and on adaptive design-to-fabrication workflows

Prior knowledge to Rhino/Grasshopper is of advantage but not required.

Ena Lloret-Fritschi

Ena Lloret-Fritschi is an architect with an interest in shaping concrete without the need for traditional formwork. She is currently a PostDoctoral researcher in a bridge position between the Chair of Gramazio Kohler Research and the Chair of Physical Building Chemistry of Prof. Robert Flatt. Her work is embedded in the research strand Mouldless Shaping with concrete within the DFAB or the NCCR, ETH, where she guides PhD students and coordinates projects.  Ena successfully defended her PhD Dissertation on Smart Dynamic Casting: A Digital fabrication method for concrete structures on June 16, 2016. In 2012 Smart Dynamic Casting received the Concrete Innovation Award at the Concrete Innovation Conference in Oslo and was amongst the 5 finalist for the SPARK award at the ETH Zurich.

Dr. Fabian Meyer-Broetz

Dr. Fabian Meyer-Broetz is the Head of 3D Construction Printing at the PERI GmbH in Germany – one of the largest manufacturers of formwork and scaffolding solutions in the world. Fabian’s work revolves around paving the way for a broader application of 3D printing in the industrial practice and bringing state of the art technology on real world construction sites. He is developing projects with PERI customers in Europe, the US, the Middle East and Japan. A holistic view on the construction process and all trades involved is core to all his activities. Fabian is a former member of the Innovation Management at PERI where he led a variety of projects ranging from new building methods for slums to automatic inspection of concrete structures. Before joining PERI, Fabian followed his long-standing interest in innovation and change processes by working for Siemens and Daimler in the field of technology foresight. He received his Master’s degree in Physics and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Ulm.

SPP 2187 & SFB / TRR 277 Summer School

Vom 12. bis 16. Oktober 2020 fand die Summer School mit Teilnehmern des SPP 2187 und des SFB/ Transregio 277 in Meschede am Hennesee statt.

In Fachvorträgen wurden etwa 35 wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeitern vor Ort und weiteren Personen am Bildschirm zu Hause eine grundlegende Einführung in TRR 277 und SPP 2187-relevante Themen gegeben. Frau Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gisela Lanza referierte zum Thema “Produktion im Zeitalter der Industrie 4.0”, Herr Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus König sprach über “Bauwerksinformationsmodelle”. Herr Prof. Dr.-Ing. Viktor Mechtcherine stellte das Thema “Digitale Fertigung mit mineralisch gebundenen Kompositen” vor, Herr Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ludger Lohaus sprach über “Beton – das geheimnisvolle Material” und Herr Dipl.-Ing.
Markus Spadinger berichtete über “PGE – Produktgenerationsentwicklung mit Baukästen und Modulen”. Zum Abschluss erörterte Herr Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Mark das Thema “Optimierungsbasiert Bemessen und Konstruieren von bewehrtem Beton”.

Darüber hinaus fanden ein interaktiver Soft-Skill Tag zum Thema “Meine Forschung sichtbar machen” sowie Arbeitsgruppentreffen des SPP 2187 statt. Die Teilnehmer beider Forschungsverbünde, die sich im Rahmen der Veranstaltung zum ersten Mal getroffen haben, konnten sich über fachliche Schnittstellen ihrer Arbeit austauschen und weitere Kontakte für ihre Forschung knüpfen sowie erste Interaktionsketten bilden.
