<p style="font-weight: 400;">Vita:</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Oliver Appling Bucklin is a research associate and doctoral candidate at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction at the University of Stuttgart. Oliver holds a Masters in Architecture I degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the University of Washington. Experience at the Harvard Center for Green Buildings and Cities led to an interest in scientific approaches to architectural design. Current research investigates sustainable building practices leveraging advanced modeling and fabrication in solid wood building envelope system. Further research covers embedded electronics and custom mechanics, including mobile robotics and integrating computational intelligence in industrial processes. He has had extensive experience in the United States in general construction and woodworking, and is currently involved in the Performative Wood group at the ICD.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Vita:</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Luis Orozco is a Research Associate and PhD Candidate at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD) at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. He is also a registered architect in the state of New York, USA. He is a member of the EXC 2120: Cluster of Excellence IntCDC – Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture where his research focuses on a novel, digital, modular wood building system to enable the adoption of prefabricated timber construction in additional building typologies.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Prior to joining the ICD, Luis worked as a Computational Designer and Project Architect at HKS Architects in London, UK. There, he applied computational design thinking and techniques, and coordinated international project teams across sectors, specialising in Health and Stadium projects and a focusing on the MENA region. He was project lead on the Kuwait Children’s Hospital, which was a finalist for Future Project of the Year: Health at the World Architecture Festival 2017.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Luis received his M.Arch from the Taubman College at the University of Michigan, USA, where he instituted and taught the university’s first Introduction to Robotic Fabrication course. He received his B.Sc.Arch. at McGill University, Canada.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Vita:</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Yasaman Tahouni is designer, maker, and a computer scientist who works as a Computational Designer Samsung Electronics. She holds dual master’s degrees in Design and Computation and in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Previously, she received her Bachelor of Architecture from University of Tehran, Iran. Yasaman’s research lies at the intersection of Computational Design, Digital Fabrication, and Human-Computer Interaction, and she seeks to find novel ways to bridge computation and materiality.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Prior to joining Samsung, Yasaman was a research associate at ICD, where she conducted research on 4D-printing of bio-based materials, for which she developed design and fabrication platforms for creating programmable and shape-changing material systems. Previously, Yasaman worked as a researcher at MIT Design Lab, where she led interdisciplinary research in the fields of design, manufacturing technologies and interactive systems to create intelligent everyday-used products. In addition to research, she has given lectures and co-taught several courses and workshops with focus on computational design, digital fabrication, and physical computing</p>

<p><span lang="EN-GB">Tiffany Cheng is a Taiwanese-American designer and builder whose work examines the performance potential of natural and biobased materials for smarter and more sustainable forms of making. Based in Germany at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD), Tiffany conducts research on bioinspired self-shaping and develops computational 4D-printing methods for creating programmable structures that behave like plants. Tiffany&#8217;s research has been recognized through various awards, notably the Living Machines 2020 Best Paper Award, Future of Construction 2022 Best Poster Award, and Materialpreis 2023 </span><span lang="EN-GB"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="an1" draggable="false" src="https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/e/notoemoji/15.0/2764/72.png" alt="❤" width="13" height="13" data-emoji="❤" aria-label="❤" /></span><span lang="EN-GB"> Award. Her designs have been exhibited internationally at the Eiffel Tower in France (2019), the Mori Art Museum in Japan (2019-2020), and the 2023 London Design Biennale in the United Kingdom. Tiffany holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California and a Master of Design Studies in Technology from Harvard University.</span></p>
